1963 Gibson Mastertone RB-250 5-String Banjo w/ Factory Case – FON 3-0996-8 Desirable 1963 Gibson Mastertone RB-250 5-string banjo, bearing Factory Order Number 3-0996-8, and accompanied by its Gibson factory hardshell case. This vintage Mastertone features the classic Gibson inlaid peghead, decorative mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays, “MASTERTONE” fingerboard block, traditional 5-string configuration with side-mounted fifth-string tuner, resonator back, and nickel-plated hardware. The RB-250 Mastertone has long been one of Gibson’s signature professional-grade banjos and is closely associated with traditional bluegrass and American roots music. This 1963 example comes from an especially desirable period of Gibson production and offers excellent appeal for both the serious player and vintage Gibson collector. Includes its fitted Gibson factory hardshell case. The banjo exhibits age-appropriate wear from use and storage, including surface scratches, finish wear, tarnishing and oxidation to the hardware.
