2001 Gibson RB-3 Mastertone 5-String Banjo w/ Gibson Hardshell Case - No. 3-0108-59 Desirable Gibson RB-3 Mastertone 5-string resonator banjo, dating to 2001. Features a rich mahogany-finished neck and resonator, bound fingerboard and resonator, double concentric resonator rings, decorative pearl-style fingerboard inlays, “Mastertone” fingerboard block, ornate Gibson peghead inlay with script logo, planetary-style tuners with pearloid buttons, geared fifth-string tuner, nickel-plated hardware, one-piece flange, armrest, and resonator construction. The interior rim retains the oval “Gibson Mastertone – Gibson, Inc. – Nashville, Tenn.” label and is stamped 3-0108-59, consistent with Gibson's numbering system indicating Style 3 and 2001 production. Includes the pictured Gibson-branded fitted hardshell case with plush interior and gold-tone hardware, along with leather strap. A desirable Nashville-era Gibson Mastertone suitable for the bluegrass musician, Gibson enthusiast, or banjo collector. Banjo presents well overall with normal signs of age, handling, and use.
